Support from APRE and THE VEDETTES

APRE are the refreshingly, tightly-sealed writer, production and multi-instrumentalist duo who first met at Chess Club. ?They were introduced through the owner Sue, who let them use the back room of the club to start making songs and rehearsing their creations live.?

Already, the pair are showing a retrospective eye for detail, mixed with a slight sense of the surreal, creating alternative, wonkie electronic indie music.

THE VEDETTESYork-based indie rockers The Vedettes are no normal indie band. Not content to merely imitate those that came before, the quintet’s debut single ‘Silver’ is a mission statement of a band who tread their own path. Drawing inspiration from everyone from The Smiths to Jaws, Mallory Knox to Circa Waves, ‘Silver’ is an atmospheric jaunt of Britpop-by-way-of-alt-rock. Frontman Simon Hall’s distinctive vocals are supported by the pounding drums of Michele Pascale, interlocking guitarwork of Alfie Gerzimbke and Tim Erimhan and driving bass of James Butterworth. The band are currently in the process of writing and recording their debut EP, which is set to be released next year. After impressing crowds at their first three York shows they are definitely one to watch for 2019.

The Vedettes have already seen support from national radio, being listed as Laura Whitmore’s ‘Track of the Week’ during her Sunday Session on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Introducing when releasing their debut single ‘Silver’.
